Post-op massage FAQ
When should I start lymphatic massage after lipo?
Most of our clients start within the first week after surgery, as soon as their surgeon clears them. Starting early keeps fluid moving before it has time to harden. Bring your surgeon's post-op instructions to your first visit.
How many lymphatic massages do I need after lipo or a BBL?
Most of our clients do 6 to 9 sessions, about 2 a week at first, then fewer as the swelling goes down. Bigger surgeries like lipo 360 with a BBL or a tummy tuck usually need the full 9. We set your exact plan at your first visit.
How much does post-op lymphatic massage cost in Raleigh?
At The Body Bar NC the first post-op visit is $299 for 90 minutes and includes your consult, drainage and red light. After that, the 9 session package is $199 per session.
Does lymphatic massage hurt after a BBL?
It should not. Post-op drainage uses light pressure that gently stretches the skin, never deep tissue. After a BBL we stay off the grafted areas and work the paths that drain them, so the fat you paid for stays put.
Can lymphatic massage help hard lumps or fibrosis after lipo?
Drainage moves the fluid that can turn firm if it sits too long, which is why starting early matters. If you already have hard areas, we check them at your first visit and tell you honestly what to expect. Older, set fibrosis takes longer than fresh swelling.
Do you see patients who had surgery in another state or country?
Yes. Many of our clients had surgery out of state or out of the country and come to us as soon as they land back home in the Raleigh area. We screen for travel related risks like blood clots before we start.
Do I need a referral for post-op massage?
No referral is needed. We do need your surgeon's clearance and post-op instructions before we start, and you should wear or bring your compression garment.
Do you offer IV therapy after surgery?
Yes. Our Comeback IV is made for post-op clients and has vitamin C, minerals, B complex and taurine. It is $195, and glutathione can be added for $40. A short video visit from your phone clears you first, and we ask that your surgeon OK it. Many clients book it on the same day as a drainage session.
